KAPPA Gives Back - Update as at 15 August

Hi all SHARKS,
I visited Rumah Anak Yatim dan Miskin Taman Baiduri yesterday with my kids, and we all had a great time interacting with the children there and their dedicated caretakers.
I have some important updates for you:
  1. Date: CHANGED FROM 3rd September! - The kids have to be at Sepang by 4:30pm on that day, so we can't take them out then. They have given us two options: 26th August OR 1st September, but can only confirm later. Will keep you posted.
  2. Collection: To date I have RM200 in hand, pledges of RM1,000 and many who have told me they want to contribute, but have not indicated amount. Please get back to me quickly so we can plan.
  3. Chaperones: So far two people have comitteed to become chaperones for the day out. As it will be during office hours, you will have to get time off from your supervisor for this. If you need assistance, contact Captain Faizol. If we want 1-1 ration, then we need 19 people for this task.
  4. Drivers: 2 drivers have committed. We need about six more cars. This task involves collecting the children from Taman Baiduri Dengkil bring them to Jusco Taman Equine and return to Dengkil afterwards. Get back to me.

Till the next update, salam Ramadhaan!

This Is It

Oi KAPPA Mau!

This will be the last time I give you our sacred greeting as your Kappitan. It is my last day here at MDeC. Yes, this is it.

It's been a wonderful half a decade for me here, and now its time to say goodbye.

It has been an honour and privilege to serve as your Kappitan since March 2008. I will definitely miss the unique camaraderie that we have in Kappa. I don't think I will ever be part of a team as special as Kappa. The Kappa swagger, confidence, skills and charm all add up to make Kappa the winningest House around!

Remember where you came from. Check out the history post here. Be sure to keep our traditions alive.

Sharks are put on this earth to be the best and provoke the best out of ourselves and everyone else around us. If it weren't for Kappa, who would the other houses have as a target? You set the benchmark for other to aspire to. If it weren't for you, who would raise the bar?

Never forget that 2009 was the Year of Kappa, just as 2007 was. We should have been crowned as Best House of 2009 since we dominated in all inter-house competitions. Alas, what we were promised never came to be. The Annual Dinner 2009 came and went, with no sign of the award. But don't despair, Kappa is not in need of external confirmation of our greatness - we know that already. So let it be known among all Sharks that, even thought they stole our 2009 Best House award from us, we are still the undisputed Champiyonnnn!! And make sure you win this year, and let 2010 be a reminder to the other Houses that Kappa is still King.

Also don't forget the less fortunate among us. We do have honorary team members who wear green, so please remember to greet them warmly, as you greet other Sharks. Be an example of grace, not just strength.

Please do keep in touch. You can hit me up at aziphmustapha@gmail.com. My new outfit is still within the MOSTI family, so I'm not going far.

Minta maaf kalau ada tersilap kata atau terkasar bahasa, or any other mistakes that I may have made.

Kappa Forever.

Bravo KAPPA!

Peace to you,
Man, that really felt good. I mean seriously, the feeling was better than winning inter-house games, karaoke competition, telematch, and house performance COMBINED! You should be proud that you have collectively and individually made the lives af at least 7 people better this month, through your contributions. May you be rewarded generously for your generosity.

The event was a short and sweet one in front of Elderman Niran's office. Elderman Wan Peng was there to grace the occassion as well as a few inspired and inspiring Sharks.
  1. Kappitan recited a short du'a

  2. Elderman WP and NN handed out the goodie bags which contained: AngPow (RM100 each), 1 T-Shirt, 1 jar of Kuih Raya + 1 packet of dates.

  3. Elderman NN said a few words (which was quite touching... he apologised on our behalf to KAPPA honorary members for typically not even looking at them or saying hi or thank you for keeping our office clean. He also said something about driving safely this Raya [diorang tu takde kete boss...]

  4. Group piccies

  5. The end

15 minutes well spent. Let's do this again!

KAPPITAN

ps/ thanks Elderman Niran for pointing out that we are on the home stretch of Ramadhan.. the last 10 nights. What the big deal about the last ten nights? Check it out here or here.

OI KAPPA MAU!

Bulan puasa is back. So many things to be thankful for:

  1. Shorter work day :)
  2. Less food bill (especially kalau dapat jemputan buka puasa)
  3. Spiritual regeneration
  4. Weight loss
  5. Shorter work day :)

I hope all of you benefit this Ramadhaan. Even if you don't observe this month, try it out! Your KAPPA buddies would be happy to help you out if its your first time. You may be pleasantly surprised that going without food, drink and sex all day can be pretty liberating :P [Hey, you're fasting! Don't think about sex! There you go again! Stop it! No sex!! Can't do it can you, you fiend.]

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, lets start planning what we normally plan here in KAPPA: let's PARRRRRTTTAAAYYY!! Need volunteers to help plan and implement our annual KAPPA RAYA party. Let's set a date, send out invites and get it done!

Peace!
